How one experiences their own body is quite different from how one looks at the body of another. This is especially true for women, long the gazed upon. We interact with our own bodies while tending to them- poking, prodding, rubbing, scratching-all on a more personal level.
The word Neked comes from teasing my friends 2 year old, who giggled and screamed with delight when I pointed out his "nekedness", aside from the diaper he wore.
There is humor and comfort, as well as sadness and discomfort in the body.
