Concept Based Courses

The work in this section is from a variety of courses where the concept is the focal theme as opposed to a specific medium. Courses represented include a class on feminism in the arts, a course on shadows in art and culture, a course that investigate race theory and historical and studio applications of those theories, a course based on Lynda Barry’s Notes of an Accidental Professor which questions where images and stories come from, a course where students examined issues of identity on the self, a course on the using miniature scale in art, and a course on investigating the museum. Most of these courses were developed at the request of students, or based on student interests and needs.
