Video Stills and Installation

In video art, I teach from the history of video art as a moving image rather than a narrative. Student learn the specific history of video art, where it intersects and diverges from film history, and the artists who have worked with video to take it to new places. Projects focus on looking for and constructing images, combining images with other images and sounds, orchestrating events, performing for the camera, re-contextualizing found footage, and how to use the technology of video (now digital) and play with the structures within.
